Many of us struggle with how to clean a fire pit after we’ve had a great time using it. We tend to run into many problems, big and small, when it comes to cleaning fire pits.
Here are some dos and don’ts for fire pit cleaning:
- To protect the heat insulation structure of the fire pit, it must be cleaned when the fire pit is completely cooled.
- The ash must be poured out when the fire pit is completely cooled, and then use a small brush to clean the ash on the wall of the pit.
- Due to the heavy pit ash and oil stains, most of the time we choose hard brushes or steel wool for cleaning.
- Sometimes when you encounter stubborn stains stuck to the pit wall, you can choose a liquid containing alkaline substances as a cleaning agent.
- If the oil stain is more stubborn, the soaking time should be more than three hours.
- During the flushing process, you can choose to use a high-pressure water gun to flush, which can clean the fire pit to the greatest extent.
- After washing the fire pit – be sure to wipe it dry or let it dry completely before using it.
Keep the precautions above in mind to avoid the above situations that can damage your fire pit when using it for fire pit cleaning. If you barbecue frequently, it is best to clean it once a month to avoid the formation of stubborn stains to the greatest extent. Most importantly, always be safe when using a fire pit.
